Climb the wall
with Climbers for Palestine
(Dates TBC)Join us, wherever you are, to climb in solidarity with Palestine as part of a global climb-a-thon, with the goal of collectively reaching a massive 768 km in vertical height - equal to the estimated length of the ‘Apartheid Walls’ Israel has built around and within the occupied territories of the West Bank and Gaza.
Why are we climbing?
Climbing is an act of freedom. It’s a way for us to embrace the serenity and rush of life. It’s also an act of solidarity. We look after each other. We’re inclusive. We’re in awe of each other’s strength. As a global climbing community, we see the power in bringing together climbers from around the world, to all climb in unison, for the same goal! We are Climbing The Wall in solidarity with Palestine, and people from around the world, against the Occupation, the genocide and the ethnic cleansing of Palestinians.
How do I sign up?
There are several ways you can get involved during the climb-a-thon, climb solo, climb with friends, or climb at one of our organised meet ups & events. But most importantly sign up, get out there and help us Climb The Wall!!
We're also looking for volunteers, organizers, donations, or sponsors. Join our global team and spread the word with your network!
How are we fundraising?
Humanitarian aid is needed now more than ever, especially in the face of water, power, food and aid being cut off from an already starving and displaced population within Gaza.
Meaningful and long term partnerships and support is also imperative in the long fight for freedom, so we are also looking to support grassroots projects in the West Bank that support local communities and their rights. As participants, you can collect pledges per climb, which we'll donate to our chosen aid agencies & beneficiaries. Additional details coming soon! In the meantime check out what we managed to achieve last year 👉
Where are we climbing?
We'll have new map and new list of events and meet-ups soon, but in the meantime, check out all the amazing Climb The Wall locations from last year...
who are we?
Climbers For PalestineWe're a team of climbers from around the world who feel passionately about standing up for the rights of Palestinians, and against the genocide and ethnic cleansing in Gaza and The West Bank.We call for an end to the Occupation, an end to Apartheid, and Palestinians to be afforded their statehood, their liberty, their dignity and their right to return to the homes they have been violently expelled from throughout the last century. We know it can feel hopeless seeing the news coming out of Palestine, so our aim is to create an environment where climbers can gather with friends, learn more about Palestine, advocate for peace and justice and fundraise for the urgent aid effort in Gaza and grassroots projects throughout Palestine - all while doing what we love to do and what brings us joy — climb!!
✊🏽 We are an anti-fascist, anti-racist community. We won’t tolerate any form of prejudice, whether that's anti-Semitism, Islamophobia, racism, or misogyny.

Why Climb the wall?

Walls are meant for climbing! ✊🏽 Join us, and Climb the Wall for Palestine! Why?
For over 18 months, we have witnessed a live stream of Israel's genocide and ethnic cleansing in Gaza. Estimates of between 50,000 - 150,000 Palestinians killed*, 90% of the population (1.9 million) displaced from their homes, nearly 70% of all infrastructure damaged or destroyed, the forced collapse of the health system, and the heinous crime of cutting off access to water, power, food and medicine. We have also been witness to the heightened aggression and oppression of the Israeli Apartheid regime is inflicting on the Occupied West Bank. Around 1000 Palestinians killed, mass displacement, mass demolition of homes, restriction of movement, the mass military detention of Palestinians without due process, and the increase of violence and land theft from the illegal ‘settlers’.We also acknowledge that this is only a microcosm of what has been happening to Palestinians for the past 76 years.
*around 50,000 are attributed to ‘direct’ deaths (from airstrikes and IDF ammunition etc.) but estimates of over 150,000 include ‘indirect’ deaths (starvation, exposure, illness due to lack of sanitation, withholding of medical supplies, lack of access to medical facilities etc.) still caused by the Israeli bombardment. See detailed report at TheLancet.com
Climbing the Apartheid Walls
We are Climbing The Wall not only as an act of solidarity, but to make Israel’s Occupation and system of Apartheid a bit more tangible when oftentimes it can be difficult to fathom. Attempting to climb all 768 km of the apartheid walls brings into perspective the extent to which Palestinians are segregated through a never ending maze of walls and checkpoints. The Israeli Occupation using it to separate and isolate Palestinian communities, control what goes in and out, restricting or denying Palestinian’s freedom to move, to pray, to visit friends & family, to seek medical attention, to go climbing, to live.We are also Climbing The Wall to bring people together.
Climbing is an act of freedom and as a global climbing community, we see the power in bringing together climbers from around the world, to all climb in unison, for the same goal! If there was ever a time for the humanity and solidarity of the global climbing community to shine, this is it. We must show up.

How are we fundraising?

How are we fundraising, and who for?
We'll be using the platform RallyUp to register climbers once the campaign launches. Each climber will have a link they can share with their communities to collect pledges (either a flat amount or an amount per climb or boulder). At the end of the campaign, we'll collect all the funds and distribute them to our chosen organizations. This years Benificiaries are TBC, however last year's campaign rasied fund for the following:
- Palestine Children's Relief Fund
- Medical Aid for Palestinians
- We Feed GazaThese are a mix of non-profits and a direct aid fund that have all been vetted by the team as providing impactful resources and support on the ground in Gaza.More questions? We are in the process of updating our FAQ's, but take a look at last years FAQs here, or reach out to [email protected] for more information.
Code of conduct
We want this to be a space where people can come together to talk and climb together in community. We want you all to feel confident enough to talk about things you’re unsure of — it’s tricky unpacking all parts of a complex, hegemonic narrative, after all. That said, we’ve put together some guidelines on engagement; while we don’t want to police you, we recognise that boundaries help make sure that everyone feels safe and welcome in this space:🤬 We are an anti-fascist, anti-racist community. We won’t tolerate any form of prejudice, whether that's anti-Semitism, Islamophobia, racism, or misogyny.🙅🏽 On a similar note, do not advocate violence or make threats.🕊️ Be gentle on each other’s level of understanding. We understand that feelings are running very high, but we want this group to be accessible. For us, that’s a critical part of breaking out of the echo chamber. We don’t want anyone to be put off because they’re made to feel inadequate.👨🏼💻 Be as certain as you can be of your sources before you share any information. Spreading false or misleading information can completely undermine the integrity of the group, and the movement as a whole. That said, it’s totally ok to ask about a resource you’re not sure on - we can work through it together.
